With the start of the 2026/2027 football season, I will be recapping some of the big highlights that happen over the season. Football is an American game reprised from rugby back in the 1860’s, it later developed into the sport we know and love today. Football is a sport that follows using a unique ball, the football, the main objective is to have the quarterback, the coach on the field, follow suit and rally his team on the offensive side of the ball towards the endzone. The team has a total of four downs they can use to gain their ten yards to advance to the next set of downs. When a play fails third down and they are on their fourth most teams punt, some however dare to take that fourth. The defensive side of the ball has a different goal. They must stop the offense by any means necessary, whether by tackling, intercepting, or sacking the quarterback, their goal is to absolutely stop the offensive drive. When the offense scores or the defense stops their advance, the teams switch offensive and defensive teams.
